Dessert Bar Recipes
Now I am a sucker for anything M&M related. So when I was playing around with my Chocolate chip Cookie Bar recipe trying to see what could possibly make it better, add M&M was an obvious choice! These thick, chewy, M&M Chocolate Chip Bars are easy to make, delicious, , and always a huge hit at any gathering!
Ingredients
- 4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, melted & cooled until warm
- 2 cups (lightly packed) light brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs plus 2 egg yolks
- 1 1/2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups M&Ms, DIVIDED
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F
- Generously butter an 18x13-inch sheet pan
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In another large bowl, use an mixer to combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add in the vanilla, eggs and the egg yolks, beat until well combined.
- Slowly and gradually, with the mixer on low speed, add the flour mixture and mix until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and half of the M&Ms.
- Generously butter an 18x13-inch sheet pan
- Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan, pressing down and smoothing the top into an even layer. Sprinkle with the remaining M&Ms and lightly press them into the surface.
- Bake for 18 to 23 minutes or until the edges are light golden brown and the center is set. Allow to cool in the baking pan before slicing and serving.
