Dessert Bar Recipes
Some days you want a little something extra in your
dessert. These peanut butter Pretzel brownies
bars are the perfect balance of sweet and salty in one delicious bar.
There is a little work involved in them, but definitely worth
the effort. The crunch of the pretzel
crust with the chewy brownie and salty peanut butter makes this brownie a home
run for any occasion!!
Pretzel Crust
- 3 cups crushed pretzels
- 3/4 cup melted butter
Pretzel Crust Directions:
- Combine in a bowl until the pretzel are well coated
- Press into the bottom of a greased 9x13" pan.
- Set aside.
Brownies
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup strong coffee
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 Tbs vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp salt
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt; set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter, coffee, sugar, and vanilla. Blend until creamy
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add flour mixture.
- Pour mixture evenly over pretzel crust.
- Bake 35-40 minutes
Peanut Butter Frosting
- 2 cups melted creamy peanut butter - Melt in microwave for 30 seconds at a time
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 Tbs vanilla extract
- Mix all ingredients until smooth
- Spread peanut butter mixture over hot brownies.
- Tip: Start in the middle and spread outwards so you don't get brownie crumbs in your frosting.
- Chill brownies in the fridge for a couple of hours before serving.
- Enjoy the deliciousness!!
